This Math Project Based Learning Budgeting resource will be perfect to use for partner work, individual projects, or virtual students. Use the Google Classroom personal finance activity in 5th, and middle school students. This resource is a fun project-based learning (PBL lesson). Students’ creativity can run wild with this project to teach the importance of budgeting money. Students will be able to see how far they can stretch their budget while planning a vacation with this real-life scenario math project.
You can use this Math Project Based Learning activity to teach in your Google classroom for home school, during the school year in small groups or centers, and for tutorials. This project is great for 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade students to research and plan a vacation that is digital.
They can go anywhere in the world as long as they stick to the budget assigned. Also provided, are digital rubrics for grading that the teacher and students can use. A PDF of these files is also provided.
HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT:
You can let your classwork in groups/partners or individually to plan the perfect vacation.
❀ First students will brainstorm a list of places they would like to go.
❀ Then they will pick a location, and write about why they want to visit. Students MUST have a computer to research flight costs, car rental, lodging, entertainment nearby, and restaurants they will eat at.
❀ The class will present their vacation at the end of the project. Included are rubrics for the teacher to grade their project easily.
❀ The students will even rate their group members for participation.
