Teach understanding Tone & Voice & mood using emojis your 3rd, 4th, & 5th-grade reading class The tone is something that your students can understand when they hear it in your voice, but it can be difficult to understand in written text. This resource can help to show students the mood of the characters.

- 14 emoji cards with common character feelings that range from sad, depressed, joyful, and delighted.

TO USE: Have students can pick one of the emoji cards and one of the tone scenarios. Your class can have fun acting out each of the scenarios inside. This activity can be used with partners, in small groups, or as a whole class.
This tone, voice, and mood resource is easy to put in centers, to have for early finishing students or to practice during tutoring. This lesson can be used as a game too!
