This low-prep resource contains 6 original NONFICTION comprehension passages with high-interest topics. Each passage is printable & has a digital self-grading assessment. The teacher receives grades instantly upon student completion using Google Forms.

Using nonfiction reading passages will help you see skills your readers may struggle with. Each passage is approximately one page in length. I have used this product for independent work, weekly checkpoints, small groups, and after-school tutorials. You can also send a printable page for homework or extra practice during test prep season.

Here is what is inside:

•  5 multiple-choice or short-answer question options (same questions)

•  Answer keys for easy grading

Two versions available: the first set contains more text features, fonts, and clip art. The other version uses minimal fonts and clip art, which may be helpful for a student with reading accommodations or for those who get distracted easily. Both of the sets contain the same reading information.

Give the students in the classroom one of the passages to practice independently while you pull small groups of readers to work on other reading skills. The digital version is great to have set up in a center to incorporate technology. If parents ask for additional reading practice, email them one of the links so their child can practice at home. Each passage is perfect for students to read during tutorials and to review how to use reading strategies.

There is no prep work for the teacher. Just print the page and have students enjoy reading while practicing different reading skills.
