Description
These readers theater scripts are great for a third, fourth or fifth grade to practice acting out a drama while learning to recognize different styles of figurative language in written text. Once the readers theater plays are read and completed, each of the four plays contains comprehension questions that can be used as a grade.
I created these passages for my 4th and 5th-grade students to practice common reading skills and writing styles of a drama (play). Students sometimes struggle to identify different figurative language styles, so I added many of the examples inside each of the comprehension passage plays.
The four plays focus on two styles each to increase student understanding. The figurative language styles added to the plays are:
- Simile
- Metaphor
- Idioms
- Onomatopoeia
- Oxymoron
- Personification
- Alliteration
- Hyperbole
